Here it is. 2003 DR650 supermoto. Discs by Aussie Disc, HEL lines, Taper bars, Trailtech speedo, Staintune full exhaust, Ducati Monster front indicators, Excel rear rim with std hub, DR650 rear rim laced to std front hub - tyres 110 front/150 rear. About 15 kgs removed from bike (including weight difference with full system) All for a bit of fun on the road. Fun without high maintenance!

i have no idea about motard bikes. Other than appearing to be trail bike with street tyres, what is the difference?

they certainly look like fun and I would have one in the garage. But what would I use it for?

this is a serious question btw.

tonnes, after following Bing back from Brown mountain ( well at least for a bit) I can tell you that you can do anything you want on one, they are quick, handle great in the twisties and can nearly wheelie around corners, ain't that right Bing lol

When the road gets twisty the supermoto makes perfect sense. They are also heaps of fun in and around the city. Dangerous for your licence though :)

As for wheelies.... :D

They are great on Aussie roads. Where bumbs start upsetting sportsbikes, the motards don't even notice them.
I had ridden dirt bikes hard on the road before (peg scraping on knobby tyres anyone? ) and jumping on a Motard was great. It felt like home, execpt that the bike had more traction for cornering and braking.
Even just having the road tyres on the WR450 with standard rims is a lot of fun.
When I crashed the R1 at the Creek, I jumped on Dala's DRZ motard and was only 2 seconds slower around the track...

Bottom line,
Motards are fun!

Does anyone remember that old Disney cartoon where Goofy gets into his POS and turns into a road raging monster? Getting on a supermoto is a bit like that only it's more grin than rage. A bit like  And that's got to be a good thing.

They're a great way to go! I have put road tyres on a lot of trail bikes and scramblers over the years and had some of my best fun on them.
Looks like a great bike, Bing.
