i've register for the helmet study. Not that it sustained much damage, but you can see where the lining absorbs some shock.

Have to think of a way of making a small laminated card for some of that info so its easy to carry. Maybe TW could publish as a cut out so we could laminate it ourselfs - or as a loose insert?

We were talking about first aid courses last night, and I said they should make it part of getting your license. Even if it's just doing the rider first aid course.

I am doing my Apply First Aid (Formerly known as Senior First Aid) again next Tuesday! I already completed the online component yesterday :)

I think St Johns do a motorcyclist oriented senior first aid. I would certainly be interested in doing it.

St Johns First Aid Motorcycle Course

$100 - This course includes safety at the scene of an accident, recognition and management of the unconscious rider. The management of trauma including bleeding (internal & external), shock and chest injuries. When and how to remove a motorcycle helmet, resuscitation techniques, burns treatment, wounds including impaled objects, gravel rash, laceration, contusions and management of the casualty.

Though I wouldn't do an Apply First Aid with St Johns (I have been told by a few reliable resources that they aren't always the fastest at updating the knowledge taught in their courses) but I would be interested in doing that, even though I will have a a current Apply first aid.

I think if you get 10 or more ppl they will run a course on a specific day you request.

I'm not sure how accurate that can be, they are providing a national competency, its against the law for them to teach out of date information. They get their guidance from the Australian Resuscitation Council which is the national body coordinating all resuscitation training providers.

Well they took a lot long than other places to update their 30 / 2 than other places... Just relaying what I was told, from someone who taught first aid with them, and now does it through someone else.

Of course what I said was that *I* wouldn't do it because of something I was told. Doesn't mean it's correct, I wouldn't necessarily believe stuff that someone online told me their heard from someone else
